In the summer of 2023, I was blessed with the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Chiquimulilla, Guatemala. I had no idea then that this trip would solidify my passion for public health. During the ten days I spent serving the community, I visited the villagers and helped run free medical clinics. Despite my limited Spanish, I engaged with the patients and discovered the profound impact of healthcare on their lives. Since this experience, my passion has been for bettering the health of the unfortunate, as healthcare isn’t a privilege, but a fundamental right for all.
